Today, we celebrate the 37th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
The revolution is also known as the “Yellow Revolution” due to the color worn by the protesters and along Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue, where the protest took place. It was a series of demonstrations in the Philippines that began in 1983 and culminated in 1986 with the overthrow of President Marcos.

The bloodless revolution is a source of pride for every Filipino. It was the largest non-violent demonstration in the world. It also inspired other countries that are under unfavored political situations to call for a change through peaceful protest than violent riots.

This historic event is commemorated every February 25th, a declared non-working holiday.
This year’s anniversary President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared February 24th a declared non-working holiday to enable our countrymen to avail of the benefits of a long weekend under the principle of holiday economics. Many celebrate People Power Revolution by gathering in EDSA, wearing yellow, and attending concerts and church services in the vicinity to commemorate the 1986 events.
